Both Fogón rooms are in Palermo, the sprawling northern barrio that most visitors treat as their base — one on Uriarte street in Palermo Soho, the other in Palermo Viejo. It's the part of the city with the densest concentration of restaurants, cocktail bars, boutiques and leafy streets, and the Underground has several stations within Palermo.
An afternoon in Palermo Soho
The blocks around Plaza Serrano and Plaza Armenia are the classic Palermo Soho afternoon: independent boutiques, street art on the corners, cafés for a coffee and a medialuna, and more. It's an easy, low-effort couple of hours before a dinner seating, and you can walk to the restaurant when the time comes.
The parks, for a lunch seating
If you've booked the 12:30 seating, the Bosques de Palermo — the city's great park with its lakes, rose garden and planetarium — are the natural place to walk off nine courses. The Japanese Garden and the MALBA museum of Latin American art are both in the same broad area, so a lunch tasting followed by a slow park-and-museum afternoon makes a very good day.
After the dinner seating
A dinner seating ends in the evening, and Palermo is known for its bars and restaurants. You won't want more food, but a last drink in a nearby bar is a good way to end it.
